Fin Seal/Over Wrapping
Fin Seal/Over Wrapping - Over wrapping offers a more cost-effective means of loosely containing pre-packaged items or printed material in a see-though, opaque or printed tamper-resistant medium. This process is also known as "fin-seal wrapping" or "flow wrapping".
Pouches which are produced on automatic equipment, primarily for the snack food industry, food bars, trading cards and other high volume industries use equipment known as Vertical Fill and Seal (VFFS) and Horizontal Fill and Seal (HFFS) equipment. These machines produce a package which has a seal down the back side of the package referred to as a "fin" seal.
Additionally, multiple items can be collated and the finished item can be incorporated into another package.
